BPS mencatat inflasi (umum) sebesar 0,39% (mtm) pada bulan Agustus 2015.Inflasi terjadi karena ada kenaikan harga pada beberapa indeks kelompok pengeluaran. Kelompok bahan makanan, kelompok makanan jadi, minuman, rokok, dan tembakau, dan kelompok pendidikan, rekreasi, dan olahraga merupakan komponen utama penyumbang inflasi di bulan Agustus 2015 (tabel 1).
