LABOR MARKET BRIEF Volume 4, Number 4, April 2023

In line with efforts to support ILO Convention 189 regarding work eligibility for domestic workers (pekerja rumah tangga/ PRT), Indonesia has shown a commitment to protect them through the acceleration of the Domestic Worker Protection Bill (RUU PPRT) which was actually initiated 19 years ago. It is hoped that this law become an umbrella regulation that can guarantee protection for domestic workers who are considered as vulnerable informal workers. The April 2023 edition of the Labor Market Brief discusses the profile and protection of domestic workers in Indonesia as follows.
