Kiki1Niniek L. Gyatt completed her bachelor’s degree on Economics and Development Study at Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia (FE UI) and she obtained her Master of Social Science in Local Government Finance after completing her post-graduate education in University of Birmingham, UK. Niniek started to work at LPEM FEB UI as a research assistant in 1993. Starting from 1997, Niniek has worked as a researcher and trainer at LPEM FEBUI. Niniek also works as a lecturer for undergraduate program and Magister of Public Policy and Public Planning at University of Indonesia. Before working as a lecturer at UI, Niniek Niniek was once an assistant lecturer at University of Indonesia and STEKPI. Other than that, Niniek previously worked as a research assistant for Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID) program for Financial Policy Studies and Training (PFFPST) in 1992. She also taught a short course on public finance in a cooperation with a Ministry of Finance.

In her projects, Niniek has worked with national and international clients consisting of World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), JICA, GIZ, AUSAID AIPD, as well as Ministry of Finance. Besides research and lecture, Niniek has also contributed in the writing of a book titled Building a Modern Financial System: The Indonesian Experience written by David C. Cole and Betty F. Slade. Niniek also participated in a training regarding property tax in 2011 as well as a Training of Trainers for Financial Management training held by GIZ and DGFB in 2015. Niniek’s research interests include public sector economics, taxation, public planning, local economy and international trade economics.
